Jobi - PENDING's Story

This sweet Shepherd mix Tripod was named after the Jobi brand of camera tripods!

She was found as a stray back in June with an old injury to her front leg, which had to be amputated. Doc also suspected some sort of previous head trauma at some point, as part of her skull is sunken in and one of her eyes was partially affected, but she's made a ton of improvement since coming into our care! She is not visually impaired and has no current medical/health issues.

She is about 8 months old and weighs about 45 lbs. Jobi is a love with a way of looking at you with those big blue semi-crossed eyes - as if you and the second image of you are the greatest two people ever! ??

She’s crate-trained and potty-trained and super friendly with all animals. She prefers people - but has been cat tested, bunny tested and parrot tested. She really only wants to get back to the people.

Jobi is super friendly and will play with every dog at her foster mom’s right now from 3 lbs of chihuahua to 80 lbs of golden! Her idea of fun is chasing down chew toys and bringing them back. She also plays tug and will play with any dog that plays back!

And don’t let those 3 legs fool you! She’s faster than the golden and will still hang out on the sofa with the chi! Jobi jumps up on the sofa and bed with ease, when invited. She’s also learning stairs. They have been a little tougher!

She also has a fierce bark - but a quick shake of your head and she stops. She would scare anyone that came in the door! She’s still learning about cuddles. She will lay next to you, but won’t touch you just yet. Every so often she puts her paw over towards me - so I know she’s getting more comfortable.

She has medium to high energy, loves to play, and knows basic commands like 'sit.' No guarding issues and she doesn’t suffer from separation anxiety. We are working on bathing and she’s so much better!

Jobi the tripod is perfectly imperfect. But aren’t we all?

Jobi is in Houston, TX but is available to transport out of state! Adoption application: https://www.this-is-houston.org/adopt/adopt-application/

ThisIsHouston's Adoption Policy
1. Submit Application 2. Home Check 3. Meet the Pet 4. Sign Adoption Contract 5. Pay Adoption Fee 6. 2 Week Trial 7. Finalize Adoption -- To adopt a pet within our group, please fill out an adoption application. Once/if your application is approved, we will make arrangements to set-up a home visit/virtual tour. The home visit/virtual tour will allow us to see the area the pet(s) will be living in, as we will need to make sure it is a safe and clean environment. After the home visit, if the applicant has any current pets, we will conduct a meet and greet to ensure all pets are introduced properly. If all goes well, the pet(s) will go on a “2 week trial” with the applicant. At that time, the adoption agreement and the adoption fee is due upon taking possession of the dog(s). If the dog still has remaining vetting to do under TIH, we will also require a foster form be submitted as well. If the pet is not a good fit for the household, he/she must be returned to us with a full refund if within the 2 week trial. If the 2 week trial DOES go well, and both parties choose to finalize, we will register the microchip in the adopter’s name and we will send over a health record for the pet(s) as well as important information regarding the microchip registration. Please keep in mind, once the adoption is finalized, and if it doesn’t work out with the pet(s) for whatever reason, the pet(s) must return back to us, as it states in our adoption contract.
