Jo (Julia)'s Story
Meet Julia. Julia (now Joe) was adopted from us in October, 2023 as a 5 month old pup. Julia and her 2 siblings, Carter and Pebbles, were surrendered to our rescue. She is about 40lbs (fully grown). All we can say about her breed is that she is mixed with most likely Boxer. Julia is being returned after about 2 1/2 years. I have copied and pasted what her adoptive mom sent to share.

From Julia’s Adoptive Mom:

Joe is an incredibly sweet and intelligent, energetic girl! She is two years and seven months old, and up-to-date on all of her vaccinations and has been tested for worms, and treated for fleas and ticks. She weighs 40 pounds and is a Medium size dog. Joe enjoys fetch, walks, and playing chase in the yard. She went to training around 1.5 years old, where she learned how to heel walk on a leash, sit, and lay down. She does still need regular reminders and training however, she picks up on her skills very quickly. She is a highly energetic dog and is very excitable, which can be seen in her exuberant welcomes when someone walks through the door. However, she does love lounging on the couch or in bed with you at the end of the night, or for midday nap. She does not have issues with chewing furniture, however, she does like to indulge in the errant slipper lying around.

She has never been aggressive towards humans. She takes a bit to feel safe but then she’s a lovebug. Joe does wonderfully with other large dogs, but she is weary of cats and other small dog. Because of this, she will do best in a home with no cats or small dogs.

She has so much love and energy to give to her perspective owner!
