JJ's Story
JJ is an approximately six year year-old poodle mix rescued from
the city shelter after he was captured in extreme neglected condition. We believe that he lived with little to no care for at least a year or more due to the extreme condition that he was found in. Now that he has a fresh start he is learning that humans can be kind.
Jay was caught as a stray in extremely neglected and matted condition. Once we were able to clean him up we discovered that he has some back problems, most specifically, narrowing of disc space and spondylosis. He is on pain meds to manage his pain but he has snapped/bitten out of pain a few times when being picked up wrong when he is in pain. When he bites it is a warning bite, usually not breaking skin, to say "you're hurting me". He needs a dog savvy owner who understands how to properly pick him up, otherwise he is absolutely NOT aggressive by any means. He is very sweet, loves to give kisses, and loves to cuddle and be close to his human. He will likely need lifelong pain meds management. He is a very sweet dog otherwise, and gets along with other animals but would do best with another very submissive, small dog, and he seems to do better with females. We think he would do fine with cats. Because of his potential to bite out of pain, he would not do well in a home with young children that might accidentally pull on him or hurt him. He loves walks, car rides and is mostly paper trained.
We are looking for a very special person to give him his forever home, could that be you?
To adopt JJ in the Los Angeles or Ventura county area please send us an email for an application to Jjwoofinpaws@gmail.com
