Jinx's Story

Jinx is an 8 yr old, male, neutered, Beagle mix. When meeting him you would think he's still very much a young dog!

Jinx was with the same family all of his life until about 5 weeks ago, as of July 18th.

He loves being in the country and to run in the field along side the ATV. Jinx loves affection, sitting on his hind legs with both paws up for more chest and belly rubs. He has great recall and stays right around unleashed.

Jinx has been good with other dogs and cats. His new family adores him and he has learned to trust them in such a short time.

Jinx's new family is worried they won't have enough time for him, having to leave him more than they'd like and being busy with their own business.

They/we'd love to see Jinx with a family that can focus on Jinx as a family member, and have time for walks/runs, hiking, playing, and just snuggling on the couch or in bed.

Jinx is in great shape and is incredibly smart. Jinx would excel with any training his family wanted to do, he would really blossom with mental and physical stimulation.

Jinx had some fear based behaviors that in just a month have gotten a lot better, with love and stability Jinx will thrive. It's traumatic for dogs to lose their family of so many years, or to be shuffled around. It takes time to trust and feel safe.

He has/had some fear with being grabbed or handled quickly, but is now
comfortable with his family. A lot of dogs are uncomfortable with fast, unexpected movements, being grabbed or stepped over, etc.

Jinx has/had a little bit of food aggression with humans taking people food from him, but none with his own food, treats, or while eating with other dogs. His family just doesn't have him in the kitchen when they eat and he has been perfectly fine.

When we went to meet Jinx he took right to me, and wanted all the love I could give and even barked when I left for a minute.

He does have some separation anxiety, which is understandable after losing his family. Plus, who knows what his life was like before, maybe he was with them all the time, maybe they left him all the time, maybe they fed him people food. maybe not. It's hard to know.

We do know he lived in an apartment and we think he slept in bed with them. We'd love a home that will allow him on the couch and bed, so that he can get all the affection and feeling safe!

Jinx is one of the sweetest dogs we have met, anyone would be lucky to have Jinx as a loyal, loving, and absolutely adorable companion.

If you would like to learn more about Jinx and set up a time to meet him please reach out via email pawsitiveconnection2023@gmail.com, text 802-382-0081 or feel free to fill out our application https://airtable.com/appV5pXp3DhFrF6ih/shrx6XhGytB9TIrE6
