Jewels's Story

Meet Jewels Our Miracle Girl!

After everything shes been through, Jewels is finally ready to find the loving family shes always deserved.

At approximately 7 years old, Jewels absolutely loves, loves, LOVES people! She lights up when shes around her humans and is happiest soaking up all the love and attention she can get. Shes also dog friendly and does best with calm, easygoing canine companions.

When Jewels came to Rescue Tails, she was found running loose, terrified, and in terrible condition. She had infected wounds on her head that required surgery to clean and place drains, an open wound on her chest that had to be cleaned and surgically closed, was covered in fleas and ticks, and was suffering from an open pyometra, a life-threatening uterine infection that required emergency surgery.

She was also heartworm positive.

Over the past month and a half, Jewels has received all the medical care she desperately needed, including all three heartworm treatment injections. She has now completed treatment and will spend the next couple of months taking it easy while her body continues to heal. Her hard days are finally behind her.

And heres one of the best things about Jewels—shes an absolute dream in the house! She has wonderful house manners and is so trustworthy that she doesnt even need to be crated in her foster home. She happily relaxes, enjoys being with her people, and has settled beautifully into home life.

About Jewels:
Approximately 7 years old
Spayed
Fully vaccinated
Microchipped
Completed all 3 heartworm treatment injections
Dog friendly (prefers calm dogs)
Loves, loves, LOVES people
Perfect house manners
Doesnt require a crate in her foster home

Jewels has survived things no dog should ever have to endure, yet she still greets people with a wagging tail and an open heart.
