Jetta's Story

Jetta’s Story (as told by her foster mom)

Jetta was among 17 dogs confiscated from a home where they had been neglected and abused. This type of beginning to her life had consequences. Even though she is safe and loved in her foster home, she doesn’t trust easily. She’s uncomfortable with anyone walking towards her. She just moves away.

The Good Stuff…

Jetta is an absolute love bug with the person she trusts. She is my shadow at home and just wants to be where she can see me. She gives me kisses every day as long as I’m sitting down. She is super excited to see me when I get home and there is no better welcome than her happy face. She loves food and treats and knows that she will usually get a bit of whatever I’m cooking. Jetta sleeps every night in her dog bed next to my bed and will give me a few licks in the morning to say good morning, I’m here, let’s go! In many ways she has been a very easy foster to have at home. She’s housebroken and crate trained. Sleeps through the night. She is calm in the house but then loves to turn on some energy outside with the dogs. She loves the occasional chew toy.

Jetta absolutely loves other dogs. She will run like the wind, jump, and play, and wrestle with her Great Pyrenees friend, Yeti, and the other two dogs in her foster home.

We are looking for someone to give her a chance to be the best she can be. This will take time but she’s worth it! Jetta would do best in a quiet adult only home without a lot of visitors. She will need her people home a lot so that she can bond with them like she has with her foster mom. A friendly dog buddy she can play with and learn from is a must. She will also need a fenced yard in her new home because taking walks is scary for her. In return, you will be her number one!

Would you like to meet Jetta? Please email Foster@SuncoastAnimalLeague.Org to talk to her foster mom about a meet and greet.
