Jetta (40 lbs)'s Story
JETTA (40 lbs)

Shepherd X female

8 yrs.

My foster mom calls me her "sweet girl." Though I’m small, she says I have a lot of good German Shepherd traits in me. I'm well-behaved, easy to live with, and would be great for first-time dog owners or experienced ones. I love cuddles and belly rubs, and once I warm up to you, I’ll be all in! I’m very smart and quick to learn. You’ll be amazed at how well I understand things—like a German Shepherd, I can read my foster mom like a book and act accordingly to please her. I also have guarding instincts, but since my foster isn’t interested in that, I don’t bark at passing dogs or people anymore. However, if she needs me to guard, I’ll be right there.

I’m good with other dogs and people, so I could definitely live with other dogs. I love my foster mom and follow her everywhere, always eager to help. I’m happiest when she calls my name—I love to be involved in daily tasks, like taking out the garbage, doing laundry, or even vacuuming and mopping! I get so excited when I help out and feel like I’ve accomplished something.

Playtime is also important to me! My foster mom taught me "Hide and Seek" for treats, and now that’s my favorite way to get them. I can fetch a tennis ball or my monkey toy and bring it back to you, with a treat! Or we can run around the house with a toy, playing tag—I’ll follow you or you can follow me. We get great daily exercise that way! Afterward, a belly rub would make my day.

I can get by with just one walk a day but would be thrilled to have more. On walks, I like to greet other dogs and people, but if my foster mom wants me to go the other way, I follow without fuss. I also have a little blanket that I suck on for comfort (but I don’t damage it).

I don’t shed much, I’m housetrained, and I sleep through the night without issue. It seems not only can I read like a book, but I can write like one too! So I’ll stop here, hoping my forever home is with you!

ADOPTION FEE: $350

If you are interested in adoption, instead of emailing PARS, please download the Application form at:
www.peelanimalrescuesociety.com/adopt-a-dog
Fill the form and email to:
info@peelanimalrescuesociety.com
