Jett's Story

GOOD with FEMALE dogs ONLY, GOOD with kids (5 years and older), GOOD with dog-savvy cats

Jett's journey has been quite remarkable. He was rescued from a squatter/hoarding situation where the living conditions were terrible, and he came to us with scratches and an untreated cherry eye. On June 5, he underwent surgery to repair his right eye and it looks so much better! His eye has healed beautifully, and you'll find before-and-after photos below to show his progress. Jett is a sturdy 50 lb low rider, with a lot of power packed into a small frame (a gorgeous, red merle frame, at that!). His personality is as big as his head, and he absolutely LOVES playing fetch! He plays hard but quickly tires out, complete with the best pittie snores.

He currently coexists well with the resident female dog and he’s great in his kennel. Naturally, Jett has some things to work on, don’t we all? He does well with female dogs but struggles with males, so he would thrive either as an only dog or paired with a confident female companion. He’s currently a big brother to two foster puppies and he loves playing and snuggling with them. While he tends to pull on the leash at the start of walks, he eventually settles down. Although Jett gives the best cuddles, he doesn’t always know his own strength and can come across as a little wrecking ball. Because of this, he might not be the best fit for households with small children under 5.

Jett is an incredibly fun dog who makes his foster mom laugh every day. And as one volunteer put it, "He's so dang cute!"

Apply to meet Jett today!
