Jessie

Jessie is a beautiful Beagle/Cocker Spaniel mix that is between 1 1/2 and 2 years old. She was found as a stray and was not in great shape when we took her in She had a flea allergy so she was missing about half of her fur and she was badly underweight. We suspect that due to here past, she is skiddish of men and strangers. It takes her time to warm up to people. Some see this as meaning she does not like them. That is not the case, she is just afraid. We have worked with her for 6 months now and feel it is time for her to find a permanent forever home. The Beagle in her makes her hard to confine as she will dig under a fence. Precautions need to be taken or an invisible fence may work best for her. Her Beagle how will prohibit her from living in an apartment or mobile home community. When she is afraid she is not at all aggressive, she just barks. We don't believe she has ever been around young children so kids 14 and older is recommended. She is for the most part housebroken but will have an occasional accident. She loves to snuggle up and sleep with her owners at night. She also loves affection and is learning that being held and loved on is a very good thing.
