Jessica's Story

Meet Jessica - Super Mom Extraordinaire! This sweet and loving girl is a wonderful companion. Jessica has been in our home since September when she originally came to CARE very pregnant. After a week in our home, she brought 9 beautiful puppies into the world, and was the perfect mom. She was so nurturing and dedicated to her babies and showed them how to be resilient playful dogs. She loved being a mom so much she didn't want to stop nursing them. Now that her pups have found their forever homes, it's her turn to find a family to love and cherish her. At 2-3 years old Jessica is the perfect balance of playful and calm. She enjoys walks, playing soccer in the yard, cuddling up for naps, and, of course, some well-deserved pampering after all her hard work as a mom. Jessica is great with all people and kids. Her spunky yet calm, affectionate nature makes her the perfect addition to any home. She's already potty-trained and knows basic commands like "sit" "come" and "laydown." If you're looking for a sweet, loyal companion who will shower you with love and affection, Jessica just might be the perfect match! Some of my favorite things about this girl: She is a quick learner, especially when food and snacks are involved. She very rarely barks She has met several people, even when her puppies were weeks old, and she welcomed every person in to see her and babies with love. She also has met kids 2-8 years old and loved them. Those ears! She's so brave, nothing makes her nervous and nothing startles her. Ready to give this super mom the home she deserves? CARE STL uses a match-making style of adoption which focuses on pairing animals with humans to better each other based on the individual's needs and lifestyle. We do our best to ensure the right pet for the person through an open, conversation-based approach to assess what the applicant is wanting in a companion animal. Who Qualifies for Adoption? - You must be 21 or older. - You must be able to provide a secure, stable, and loving home environment. - You must be able to provide the adopted animal with proper post-adoptive veterinary care. Come by the shelter to fill out an adoption application or fill one out online to save you some time at the shelter. The purpose of this application is to gather information about your home, pets, and general lifestyle to help our adoptions counselors determine if the pet you wish to adopt is a good fit for both you and the pet. Please give us a call at (314) 696-2444 or email us about any questions you have concerning available animals or to schedule a time to meet with one of our Adoptions Coordinators. Or you can simply come by our shelter located at: 2700 Walnut Place, St. Louis, MO 63103. How Much Does it Cost to Adopt? DOGS: $100 This fee includes spay/neuter services, vaccinations, microchipping, dewormer, initial flea/tick treatment, and heartworm testing. CATS: $100 This fee includes spay/neuter services, vaccinations, microchipping, dewormer, initial flea/tick treatment, and FIV/FELV testing. PUPPIES: $150 KITTENS: $100 for one kitten, $150 for two kittens This fee includes spay/neuter services, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, dewormer, and initial flea/tick treatment.
