When rescuers found her, she was covered in ticks and terrified of humans. Over the past 6 months in foster care, she has slowly been learning that people can be safe, loving, and kind. Her progress has been incredible, and now she’s ready to find a forever family of her own.<br/><br/>About Jessi<br/><br/>Jessi is a silly, affectionate, and incredibly sweet puppy with lots of personality. Once she trusts you, she becomes a total velcro dog who wants to be by your side at all times. She loves cuddling on the couch, climbing into your lap, giving kisses, and sleeping in bed with her people. She’s truly a little lap dog at heart.<br/>She’s also playful, smart, and food-motivated (which makes training much easier!). Jessi already knows sit, paw, and lie down, loves catching sticks, is great in the car, and will happily snack on just about anything—including bananas.<br/>She’s also a bit of a character… her favourite hobby may just be stealing socks.<br/>Jessi is fully house-trained, sleeps through the night without any issues, and is respectful in the home. She doesn’t destroy things, though she may gently chew on items here and there—mostly when she’s bored or looking for a little extra attention.<br/><br/>What Jessi Needs<br/><br/>Jessi is naturally nervous and fearful, so she needs a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. New people can be scary for her at first, but food is definitely the way to her heart.<br/>Because of her sensitive nature, Jessi would do best in:<br/>• A calm home without young children (she is too nervous for busy little ones)<br/>• A home without cats — she has been cat tested and is actually scared of them<br/>• A home with at least one other friendly dog to help build her confidence and keep her company<br/>Jessi absolutely loves other dogs and thrives with canine companionship.<br/>On leash, Jessi can initially be very skittish and nervous, so she must be walked using both a martingale collar and harness for safety. Once bonded, she is extremely loyal and tends to stick close to her people.<br/><br/>Jessi’s Perfect Match<br/><br/>Jessi would thrive with someone who:<br/>• Has a patient, gentle approach<br/>• Lives an active lifestyle and enjoys walks, playtime, and adventures<br/>• Understands shy dogs and is willing to let her settle in at her own pace<br/>• Wants an affectionate best friend who will eventually be glued to their side<br/>Jessi may need a little extra time in the beginning, but for the right person, she will be so worth it. Quand les sauveteurs l’ont trouvée, elle était couverte de tiques et terrorisée par les humains. Depuis 6 mois en famille d’accueil, elle apprend tranquillement que les humains peuvent être sécurisants, aimants et gentils. Elle a fait d’énormes progrès et est maintenant prête à trouver sa famille pour la vie.<br/><br/>À propos de Jessi<br/><br/>Jessi est une petite chienne drôle, affectueuse et vraiment douce, avec beaucoup de personnalité. Une fois qu’elle vous fait confiance, elle devient une vraie petite pot de colle qui veut être près de vous en tout temps. Elle adore les câlins sur le divan, grimper sur vos genoux, donner des bisous et dormir dans le lit avec ses humains. C’est une vraie petite chienne de salon dans l’âme.<br/>Elle est aussi joueuse, intelligente et très motivée par la nourriture (ce qui rend l’entraînement beaucoup plus facile!). Jessi connaît déjà les commandes assis, donne la patte et couché. Elle adore attraper des bâtons, est super en voiture et mange presque tout avec plaisir… incluant les bananes.<br/>Elle a aussi un petit côté tannante… son passe-temps préféré pourrait bien être de voler des bas.<br/><br/>Jessi est propre dans la maison, dort toute la nuit sans problème et se comporte très bien à l’intérieur. Elle ne détruit pas les choses, mais peut parfois mordiller doucement certains objets — surtout quand elle s’ennuie ou veut un peu plus d’attention.<br/><br/>Ce dont Jessi a besoin<br/><br/>Jessi est naturellement nerveuse et craintive, donc elle a besoin d’un adoptant patient qui comprend que bâtir la confiance prend du temps. Les nouvelles personnes peuvent lui faire peur au début, mais la nourriture est définitivement le chemin vers son cœur.<br/>En raison de sa sensibilité, Jessi serait mieux dans :<br/>• Une maison calme, sans jeunes enfants (elle est trop nerveuse pour l’énergie des tout-petits)<br/>• Une maison sans chats — elle a été testée avec des chats et en a en fait peur<br/>• Une maison avec au moins un autre chien sociable pour l’aider à prendre confiance et lui tenir compagnie<br/>Jessi adore les autres chiens et s’épanouit vraiment avec de la compagnie canine.<br/>En laisse, Jessi peut être très craintive et nerveuse au départ. Pour sa sécurité, elle doit être promenée avec un collier martingale et un harnais. Une fois attachée à ses humains, elle est extrêmement loyale et reste généralement très près d’eux.<br/><br/>La famille idéale pour Jessi<br/><br/>Jessi s’épanouirait avec quelqu’un qui :<br/>• A une approche douce et patiente<br/>• A un style de vie actif et aime les marches, les jeux et les aventures<br/>• Comprend les chiens timides et est prêt à la laisser s’adapter à son rythme<br/>• Cherche une meilleure amie affectueuse qui finira par être collée à son humain<br/>Jessi aura peut-être besoin d’un peu plus de temps au début, mais pour la bonne personne, elle en vaudra tellement la peine.
