Jerry's Story

Jerry's been with me for over two weeks now. He's still settling in as I'm learning more about him. Jerry is a 2-3 year old lab mixed with some type of hound and something else that's giving him the cutest curly tail. He has beautiful amber colored eyes and currently weighs about 53 pounds. He's very skinny and should be closer to 60 pounds after he puts on a little weight. Jerry is good on a leash and loves to go for walks. He is housebroken. I'm finding out that Jerry is not fond of being closed up in a crate. I've just started gating him into my kitchen while I'm away and so far this seems to be working. He's not a barker unless he's in a situation that feels stressful to him. He's been sleeping through the night on a dog bed in my room at night. I'm also learning that Jerry does not like loud noises. If he thinks he's done something wrong he will cower and shake which makes me think that maybe someone wasn't so kind to him in the past. He was picked up as a stray and we don't have any information about his past. Like most young dogs, Jerry would benefit from some basic obedience training to help him gain some confidence and be the best boy he can be. His ideal home would be a calm one where he's not left alone all day. He'd also be a great companion for another mild mannered dog. Jerry loves to be with people more than anything. He enjoys watching the world go by from the window in my living room and would be a great couch buddy. Jerry is such a sweet guy and will blossom in the right environment. Whomever adopts him will be getting a wonderful new friend. I enjoy having him around. Jerry is also being fostered in Cary. If you would like to hear more about Jerry or to possibly meet him, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. Jerry is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations. His adoption fee is $275.

Adoption fee includes:
- microchip
- spay/neuter
- age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies
- heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive
- deworming
