Jeppson's Story
Jeppson is living in a foster home. Fill out our quick adoption survey, and then we can set up a phone call or meet and greet with the foster!

Jeppson is:
Neutered: Yes!
Up to date on vaccines: Yes!
Microchipped: Yes! Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized

More about Jeppson:
Housebroken: Yes!
Crate trained: He has done best with free roam when home alone for up to 5 hours, once he has adjusted to his environment, and prefers this to being crated when home alone. He has done fine in his crate for shorter periods, more so when his person is home.
Leash walking: He is reactive to strangers on walks, and will bark and pull. He would do best in a quiet, low-traffic neighborhood.
Dog social: Yes! He lives successfully with other dogs, and also loves attending dog daycare. He will need another dog (or dogs!) in his future home, as this helps him to be his best self.
Cat social: He lives with a cat in his foster home and has done very well after a slow, proper intro period.
Kid friendly: Not a match, as he is nervous with new people

Jeppson likes:
- Tossing around his plush toys
- Using his brain to solve food-hiding puzzle toys
- Having dog (and cat!) pals to keep him company

Jeppson is a loving and loyal chihuahua mix who prefers you and only you all to himself. He enjoys sleeping under the covers, finding the comfiest spots, and sunbathing, though he gets bursts of energy and zooms around the house and yard with his long legs. He is food motivated and eager to please which helps with his training! He can be uncomfortable with new people, particularly male-presenting humans, and would benefit from a patient adopter who can give him plenty of time, space, and treats to warm up and decompress. He would do best in a calm female-only home without frequent visitors. He would also prefer a quiet neighborhood (or home with a yard) as he is similarly nervous and reactive toward strangers on walks.

Jeppson has been taking behavior support medication to aid in his training goals.

Jeppson's adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous supporter and he is ready to spice up your life!

Next steps: Email adopt@onetail.org with questions, or submit an application online and we'll be in touch to schedule a meeting: https://www.onetail.org/apply-to-adopt/

*** Our adoption application stays on file for one year and can apply to any dog in our program. Once the app is submitted you will receive an email within 48-72 hours. For additional questions, email adopt@onetail.org ***
