Jellybean's Story

Meet adorable little Jellybean — a tiny survivor with the sweetest soul. 💕

Jellybean is a 9-week-old Yorkie Poo who came to us from the Central Valley after a heartbreaking start to life. Sadly, not all of her family survived parvo virus, but this tiny girl proved she’s an absolute fighter.

Because of everything her little body has been through, her immune system became weakened, and she is currently recovering from Puppy Strangles — an autoimmune condition sometimes seen in toy breed puppies. The good news is that she is already improving, currently on medication, and her eyes are expected to recover beautifully. Most importantly, this condition is NOT contagious.

Right now Jellybean only weighs about 2.5 pounds, and full grown we expect her to be around 10 pounds. She has the most gorgeous tri-colored long coat that is incredibly soft and fluffy. She is considered low-to-non shedding, but her future family must be committed to regular grooming and brushing to keep her coat healthy and beautiful.

Despite everything she’s endured, Jellybean is unbelievably happy, outgoing, and full of love. She adores kids, dogs, cats, and pretty much everyone she meets. You would truly never know this little puppy has been through so much.

Like any young puppy, Jellybean has absolutely no training yet and will need a family committed to patience, consistency, socialization, and a lifetime of love and adventure. Puppies are a huge commitment, and we are looking for a very special home that understands that.

Jellybean has already fought so hard for her second chance. Now she’s ready to find the forever family she deserves.

Adoption fee is $1000

Underdog Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for reading about our awesome dogs. All dogs came to us from different situations and we often do not know much about their past, but they are rescue dogs who deserve a second chance and need patience on their journey. All of our dogs our are in foster homes all across the bay area. The first step of the process is you must submit an application in order to set up a meet and great or talk with the foster family. Once application is submitted the foster parents will contact you to chat more about the dog and make sure they're a good fit and can answer any further question. The application answers most of all of our questions and can best match you. If you do not get the dog you apply for we can use your same application for 90 days towards another dog in our care and simply forward your app to that foster parent. **Reminder we are all volunteers working hard to save these dogs, some dogs may receive 20+ application to all be reviewed. We do our best to respond to all apps as we can. Please be patient and feel free to send us a follow up email if needed. http://form.jotform.com/underdogca/dog-adoption-application All dogs will be fully vetted (Spay/ Neutered, Micro chipped, DHPP and Rabies Vaccinated) and other possible vet care prior to adoption. The adoption fees vary by animal and are considered a non refundable donation Visit us at www.underdogca.com or follow us on IG@underdoganimalrescueca https://www.facebook.com/underdogCA A little more about us: Underdog Animal Rescue is a foster based rescue serving the Bay Area of Northern California. Since our start in 2014, we have built an outstanding team and have grown into a strong network of volunteers dedicated to saving the Underdogs in our shelters and community. We have dedicated our efforts to giving a second chance to the dogs that are most in need (medically or behaviorally) and the dogs that have been overlooked for too long. As a foster based rescue, Underdog places dogs in temporary foster homes where they can decompress and get the love and affection that they need. Dogs are also vaccinated, spayed/neutered and receive any other medical treatment needed before finding their forever home. Rescue is undoubtedly hard and trying work but it is entirely worth it to see the life of a dog saved. As a rescue, we believe it is our duty to save the dogs that really need our help; the dogs that need a little TLC, a little medical care, or just someone to believe in them again. This is why we save the dogs that are on their last days at the shelter or haven't even been given a chance to be adopted by the public. As much as we love those sweet puppy eyes, we think more of saving their mommy’s and daddy’s that have been shoved to the back of the shelter awaiting their fate. Thank you for seeing what we do and loving us for it. It’s only because of our outstanding community, foster families and volunteers that we are able to continue our efforts.
