Jean's Story

Meet Jean, a gentle little guy who has been waiting since October for someone to realize how special he truly is. His journey began in a ditch where he was found all alone with no one in sight until a kind person picked him up and brought him somewhere safe.

Even with that tough start, Jean has stayed incredibly loving. He greets every visitor like a friend he’s been waiting for, loves to curl up in any available lap, and thinks playtime is the highlight of every single day. We believe he may be a hound mix, so he will likely grow into a medium or large sized adult.

The holidays tend to spark puppy fever, but it’s always good to remember that puppies are a forever commitment. Jean deserves a family that will love him through every silly puppy moment and every quiet senior nap that comes later in life.

If you would like to meet Jean, stop by during our open hours. He’d be more than happy to wiggle his way into your arms and show off his sweet nature.

Jean weighs 36 pounds at 5-6 months of age. He has been vaccinated, treated for internal/external parasites and have tested negative for heartworm disease in shelter.

Located at the Brownsville Haywood County Animal Shelter in Brownsville, Tennessee. The adoption fee is $75. We have no pull fee and can help arrange transport for local 501c3 rescue groups. If interested in this dog please call 731-772-2908, we would love to hear from you! All dog/puppy adoption fees are $60, which covers all vetting done prior to adoption. Cat/kitten fees are $35. The adoption fee covers majority of the spay/neuter cost at any of our local vets. In order to adopt a pet from us, you must fill out an adoption application for the animal you are interested in, and be approved. Once you are approved, you will be allowed to come visit the animal you are interested in, and make a decision. All animals are required to be spayed/nuetered upon adoption. NO exceptions. We usually allow adopters to take animals home the same day as their meet and greet, but will not hold any animals for potential adopters unless their fee has already been paid.
