JD (tripod)'s Story

(The fine print): If after reading JD's adoption listing in full, you’d like to make this wonderful pup a part of your family, please visit www.sanctuaryrescue.com and fill out an adoption application under the “adoption process” tab (Scroll all the way to the bottom). Unfortunately, we don't receive any inquiries sent through the Petfinder system, so the only way to be considered for adoption is to fill out the adoption questionnaire on our website. If a dog’s listing is still up on Petfinder, then we’re still accepting adoption questionnaires/applications for them. Once a dog has been adopted, we will immediately remove their adoption listing. Keep reading to learn more about JD...

(The good part): JD is a 9-year-old pitbull and a proud tripod who absolutely adores people. He enjoys his days with an 11-year-old, a 16-year-old, and their friends, and he greets every new person like they’re his favorite. He is polite and accepting of other dogs but doesn’t seek them out or show interest in playing. He currently lives with two cats and does well with them.

JD is fully potty trained and travels well in the car, though he needs help getting in and out. Although JD's neighborhood walks consist only of a short jaunt around the cul de sac, he walks nicely on leash. Because of his tripod status and mobility limitations, stairs are difficult for him, and he cannot navigate them without assistance.

JD is a gentle, affectionate senior who wants a comfy bed, easy routines, and people to love. He is happiest simply being near his humans and would thrive in a home with minimal or no stairs and a relaxed lifestyle.

Foster mom says, "JD’s perfect family would be one who is looking for a really sweet, chill dog. He sleeps about 23 hours a day. He wants a home where he can just curl up on a comfy bed. He also needs someone physically strong enough to help him get up and walk around. His mobility has improved, but he still needs help from time to time. He cannot do stairs by himself. He loves having people around and wants to be included in the goings on around the house."

JD's adoption fee is $350, which includes up to date vaccinations, , and microchip.
