Jazzper's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hi there, I’m Jazzper! I’m a male, 60 pound, 5 year old Aussie Shepherd mix.

I’m going to be honest with you, I need to lose a few pounds. Want to get a head start on your New Year’s resolution? I make a great running partner! We could get in shape together.

I would require, however, to be your only canine training partner. Humans are fine! I just don’t like getting too close to other dogs. My foster mom says that with dedicated training, I may be able to eventually coexist peacefully with other dogs.

My favorite things are running and walking in the neighborhood and playing with my tug in the backyard. I love learning new tricks. My favorite is when I balance a treat on my nose and my foster mom tells me to “get it.” Then I flip it into the air and catch it in my mouth. Yum!

Great things about me:

Best as an only dog in the home

Good with dog-savvy cats

Great with humans over the age of 12

House trained and kennel trained

My requirements:

Daily physical exercise (runs or walks)

Daily mental stimulation (I love to play tug in the backyard)

Dedication to kennel time

Openness to muzzle training

I would like to continue to work with my professional trainer and am looking for a forever person who is dedicated to helping me be the best dog I can be. I am a super smart dog who needs breed-specific (herding dog) mental stimulation everyday. We could learn so many new things together. I know all of this is a lot to ask. But I really am the sweetest boy. And after we exercise, we can snuggle on the couch together and watch some TV or read a book.

I’m looking for a patient handler with a consistent schedule. Could that person be you? Apply to adopt me at: https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication and we can set up a time to meet.
