Jazmine's Story
Jazmine is a 4-year, 9-month-old, 45-pound Shepherd mix who is looking for the right home where she can feel secure and understood. She has recently returned to our care, and we are being thoughtful about what will help her feel safe and settled moving forward.

Jazmine is not a social butterfly — and that’s perfectly okay. She prefers a smaller circle, a quieter home, and relationships built slowly and intentionally. Once she bonds, she bonds deeply. She is loyal, observant, and happiest when life feels steady and predictable.

She can be cautious around new people and needs thoughtful introductions at her pace. Jazmine will thrive with calm, confident handlers who understand that trust is earned over time. A lower-traffic home with minimal surprise visitors will help her feel secure. Because busy shared spaces and frequent comings and goings can be overwhelming for her, a private home setting will set her up for success.

Jazmine has met other dogs while in our care and has shown that she can be selective about her canine companions. She will likely do best as the only pet or with very careful, structured introductions to a compatible dog. We are committed to setting her up for success and will take the time needed to ensure the right match.

Jazmine has shown sensitivity in new or overstimulating situations and will need an adopter committed to continuing her confidence-building journey. A secure yard and mindful leash handling are important, as she can become reactive to passing cars. With structure, routine, and patient guidance, she settles beautifully.

Jazmine is spayed, microchipped and is current on all vaccines including rabies. She has been given a dewormer and started on flea/tick prevention, heartworm tested (NEGATIVE) and given heartworm prevention.

Apply to adopt here:
https://orangecountyva.gov/159/Pet-Adoption-Foster-Care-Information
