Jaya's Story

Special needs girl looking for a special needs home

definition of SURVIVOR... Jaya is from Detroit and a life of all she knew was litter after litter and endless puppies to care for.. in case that isn't bad enough, she was hit by a car several years ago and has mobility issues because of it. Her neurological issues may make her walk wonky and need a home without stairs but they really don't slow her down much! Jaya needs a home that can help her stay comfortable with her neuro issues .. as these will be life long! Don't worry- no experience required of mobile issue dogs but must be willing to go with the flow and adapt with our girl :)
Jaya is 11 years young and about 50 lbs
She is very dog friendly and should live with other dogs in her forever home
She is an extra personable, extra opinionated grandma dog full of sugar and spice.. and everything nice! (And a little splash of sass too!)
The most determined, resilient, sweetest girl you'll ever meet.. we promise you that you've never loved a dog like Jaya- she has so much to teach you about love and life and making the best out of everyday!

Jaya does need to go to the vet once a week in Troy currently for a few hours. She receives a couple of treatments that have truly brought so much quality of life to her golden years and although these will eventually discontinue down to bi-weekly or even once a month, she needs an adopter who can understand her special needs and advocate for her in the years to come.

Click on more about us to fill out our adoption application.

A ReJoyceful Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for considering A ReJoyceful Animal Rescue for your new fur baby! If you are interested in one of our animals, please fill out an application on our website at www.rejoycefulrescue.com for that animal. Please allow up to 72 business hours after submitting your application for a response. Our application process is as follows: 1. After your application has been received and reviewed, the foster parent of the animal will reach out to see if you have any specific questions regarding the animal. Prior to setting up a meet and greet, we will complete a vet check to ensure all animals currently in your home are up to date on vaccines, spayed or neutered and in good health. 2. Once your application has passed a vet check, we will set up a time for a meet and greet. The meet and greet is no-obligation and simply allow the foster to meet you and for you to meet them! We always host our meet and greets on a "neutral ground" if there are other animals and ensure proper introductions are done to allow safety for all. 3. Last but not least, if we both decide you might be the perfect furever family, we will reach out to set up a time for a home check. The purpose of the home check is simply to ensure the animal is heading to a safe environment. If necessary, our foster may point out items that can cause health issues or potential safety issues. 4. Once this process has been completed and approved, our finalization team will prepare an electronic contract for your signature confirming the adoption. Our adoption fee is $450 for dogs and $200 for cats. We ask, whenever possible, the hand off of your new fur family member is to be done at a local Petsmart to allow us to receive additional charity dollars to help our foundation. Your foster family will provide more information on this. We appreciate your patience during the process and pride ourselves on the best possible placement for our fosters. Please note, our applications are not "first come, first serve" and we will review each application equally to ensure the best home is selected for our animals. If you have any questions at any time, please email info@rejoycefulrescue.com.
