Jaxx's Story
Jaxx is an affectionate, and energetic medium size dog looking for his perfect forever home! ??<br/><br/>He was rescued in Hualtulco by our rescue partner Cheryl when he was a puppy. He is available with Little Dog Rescue Society. ??<br/><br/>Jaxx will be 1 year old on February 14, weighs 58 lbs, and was DNA-tested as an American Village Dog (a common breed among Mexican rescues). <br/><br/>About Jaxx:<br/><br/> • Best suited for a home without small children (he is jumpy)<br/><br/> • Good with other dogs (has lives with a red heeler) and loves his company. <br/><br/> • Jaxx is very affectionate, playful, and goofy—he loves toys and attention!<br/><br/> • Loves to run! He gets the zoomies in open fields and does fantastic off-leash on hikes and trails. He has great recall. <br/><br/> • Kennel trained and sleeps on his dog bed. <br/><br/>•Jaxx is housetrained and quiet at home.<br/><br/>• He is wary of new dogs, especially on a leash. He does well with smaller dogs but can be jumpy when excited.<br/><br/> • Nervous around strangers initially. Jaxx may bark and retreat but will warm up on his own terms. <br/><br/>• Leash training is ongoing—he pulls and may growl on a leash (possibly protective).<br/><br/> • Knows basic commands (sit, shake a paw) and takes treats gently.<br/><br/> • Has a chicken allergy (requires chicken-free dog food).<br/> <br/>Ideal Home for Jaxx:<br/><br/> • Active individuals or families who enjoy the outdoors, go for daily walks/hikes.<br/><br/> • Patient dog owners who can continue his training.<br/><br/>Jaxx has been given lots of love and positive reinforcement training. He will be an amazing companion with the right person or couple.<br/><br/>Jaxx has been<br/>-neutered <br/>-vaccinated <br/>-dewormed<br/>-flea and tick treated<br/>-microchipped<br/>-vet examined in Canada<br/><br/>We are a non profit society based in Surrey. We offer a two week trial adoption and meet Island adopters at the Tswassassen ferry terminal. A leash, collar, harness and a dog coat is included with each adoption.
