Jaxx's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Jaxx is currently in a home with 6 other dogs. He does well with all of the dogs, even the chihuahua mix. He is curious about the cats, but shows no aggression towards them. He is on the smaller side and is probably about 50-55 lbs. He is not going to get much bigger than what he is now. He loves, loves, loves to play, run and will get into the kiddy pool to cool off. He is highly treat and food motivated. Jaxx is a jumper at heart, and will definitely need a 6ft wall or taller. (He has NOT tried to jump my 6ft block wall, but he can jump from the ground up to the top of the tables out back. He will also jump the couch from the back with ease). He would also do well in an apartment, too. He is kennel trained and fully potty trained. He would do well with another dog to play with, or even just by himself. He has no resource guarding, no food aggression, and no toy aggression...although, he is quite vocal when it comes time to play with his house mates. He knows sit and paw, but it is hard with him as he is easily distracted by the dogs around him. He would definitely benefit from some more one on one training. He does need leash work, but I feel he would be a great hiking/running buddy. He would definitely do better in a home with older children as he is high energy and would be prone to knocking over smaller children. He is super friendly, but a meet and greet is required if there are other animals in the home. He would definitely benefit from more one on one training as he is easily distracted. Jaxx is up-to-date on all his vaccines including rabies, neutered, and microchipped. If you would like to meet Jaxx, you can go to our website: animalrescuefriends.org and fill out an adoption application....By doing so, you are under no obligation to adopt him. It is just part of our policy.
