JAXON's Story

JAXSON IS A YOUNG DOG WITH AN OLD SOUL

Born in February 2021, Jaxson’s life began a world away from where he now calls home. At just three months old, this handsome mixed-breed boy made the long journey from Morocco to Canada through another rescue organization. He was adopted and lived happily for a short time, but when his owner’s circumstances changed, Jaxson was surrendered through no fault of his own.

In foster care, Jaxson has truly blossomed. Living with several other dogs, he’s become a beloved member of the pack. While he enjoys companionship, Jaxson isn’t the life of the party; he thrives in one-on-one canine friendships rather than large, boisterous groups. He especially adores the two seasoned dogs who helped raise him while still being passive and respectful around more dominant personalities.

Jaxson greets life with an easygoing spirit. In the home, Jaxson is the picture of good manners, clean in the house and never destructive. He’s respectful of space, polite when taking treats, and never one to jump or counter surf.

Jaxson’s happy place is the great outdoors. Rain, snow, or sunshine, he could spend the entire day outside simply soaking up the world around him. When left with little to do, he’ll occasionally chant out of boredom, but offer him a game of fetch or a good chew stick, and he’ll quickly settle back down for a cozy nap.

While Jaxson is generally easygoing, he can show a touch of resource guarding over balls when playing fetch with other dogs; his move is to gather all the balls in play and run off with them!

Around people, he’s unfailingly polite, though he may be a bit timid with unfamiliar men. A gentle, patient introduction is all he needs to make a new friend.

Jaxson’s leash manners are still a work in progress. Living in the country with a big fenced-in play area, he hasn’t gone on regular walks recently, but he’s bright, eager to please, and responds beautifully to positive guidance. He’s a dream at the vet and the groomer, taking his regular baths and blow-dries every few months like a pro.

Jaxson is a sweet, sensitive soul who would thrive in a home that values calm canine companionship and a lot of outdoor time as much as he does. He’s not a demanding dog, he just wants to be near the people (and dogs) he loves, and to feel safe and finally settled.

Now just over 4 years old and weighing around 55 lbs, Jaxson is neutered, microchipped, and fully up to date on all his vaccines. He is fully crate-trained. He can live with another gentle dog, but he has not had any contact with cats. We suggest kids 10+. A house with a secure fenced yard would be a great asset and of course another easy medium to large breed dog.

If you are interested in JAXSON please apply at:

NO DIRECT MESSAGE INQUIRIES PLEASE
Please note we only adopt to Montreal and nearby surrounding areas.
