Jax's Story

AN INQUIRY FROM PETFINDER IS NOT AN APPLICATION! READ THE ENTIRE POST FOR INFORMATION HOW TO APPLY.

Meet Jax! Jax is a 3 year old male chihuahua mix and he weighs about 8 pounds. Jax arrived in rescue when his previous family could no longer care for him. His foster mom says: Jax is an adorable, sweet natured, gentle boy. BUT his 'OFF button' doesn't work so well! He has TONS of energy, is absolutely hilarious and will keep you laughing- but absolutely needs a doggie playmate who will give him a run for his money! While he is submissive in nature, he is quite assertive in his urge for playtime. That includes ANYTHING alive in the home with legs, even cats. He will not harm them, but he'll be a pest, so ONLY dog savvy cats. Jax has only been observed with small animals, but we think that he would likely be fine with playful large dogs too, as long as they're conscious of their size, since he's small.
Jax is mostly very good about doing his business outside but needs to be taken out often (every couple of hours). He is also still working on leash walks, doing pretty good. Being in his crate is OK with him and he won't cry or whine, but he really likes to sleep in the big bed at night. As long as he's been worn out with play, he will sleep the whole night without issue, as a great cuddler! He's not a big barker except when you first come home, other dogs bark, or a noise outside.
If you want a high energy pup who will make you laugh, a LOT, Jax is your guy!!!

Jax is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heatrworm negative, microchipped and has had his teeth cleaned.

Jax is fostered in the Orlando area and his adoption donation is $450. If you are interested in applying to adopt Jax, please visit www.floridalittledogrescue.com to read the adoption process and complete an application! Please note that emails simply asking "Is this dog available" will not be returned, as applications are worked in the order received and availability largely depends on when you apply:) Please also know we do not adopt out of state! Thank you!
