Jax's Story

Jax is a 3-5 year old pit bull mix who came to the Franklin Township Animal Shelter as an unclaimed stray. He is a mellow guy who enjoys the company of people. Jax presents as timid upon first meeting new people, but once he gets to know you, he warms right up. One thing about Jax is that he loves making eye contact. He is very attentive to people and loves to look up at you with his big doe eyes. Jax loves to chase balls, and sometimes he even brings them back! He is looking for an adult-only home or one with older children. He might enjoy the companionship of another dog, but would need to meet them prior to adoption. No cats please. If you would like to meet Jax or any of the other adoptable pets, visit the shelter Tuesday-Friday 12-3 or Saturday 12-6.

Franklin Township Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
Adoption fee for dogs, cats, kittens, and rabbits is $80 per animal. Cats, dogs, rabbits and kittens are spayed/neutered. Cats, dogs, and kittens are microchipped, and up-to-date on all age-appropriate shots prior to adoption. Cats have also been tested for feline leukemia and FIV and dogs have been tested for heartworm. An adoption application may be found at the link below. Applications can be faxed to the Animal Shelter at 732-873-8902 or e-mailed to Brian.Hartman@FranklinNJ.Gov. Applications may also be dropped off in person during our open hours Tuesday-Friday 12pm-3pm Saturday 12-6pm.
