Jax's Story

Jax is a sweet 3-year-old goldendoodle with Addisons disease. If you meet Jax - you would never know he wasn't anything but the sweetest guy. He has very distinct face markings with a very distinguishing dark moustache. He's playful and goofy and is looking for all the love and snuggles. He is crate trained & potty trained.

Jax's condition is stable with his morning medication (4 pills with breakfast). Jax is underweight at 30 ish lbs and needs to gain about 10 lbs. Some of his Addison symptoms include: he sometimes feels tired, doesnt always want to eat, and drinks and pees a lot. Jax would do best in a quiet home with calm dogs or as the only dog. His medication cost approximately $65 a month at Costo.

What is Addison's Disease?

Addisons disease in dogs, also called hypoadrenocorticism, is when the adrenal glands dont produce enough hormones, mainly cortisol and aldosterone. This can cause symptoms like weakness, vomiting, lethargy, poor appetite, weight loss, and increased thirst and urination. With proper medication and monitoring, dogs with Addisons can live normal, happy lives.

Feel compelled but not sure if you can take on his care?
