Jax's Story

If you look up the meaning of kind hearted you're going to find a picture of Jax. This silly but shy guy has a sad story to tell but he tries his best to put one paw in front of the other. Jax was rescued in Alabama as part of a hoarding case. He was kept outside with multiple other dogs in crowded and cramped kennels. Garbage all around. Fighting for the basic necessities of life such as food and water and lacking in much needed medical care.

Dogs who live and grow up with little human interaction become under socialized and often even dangerous out of fear. They don't know what gentle pets feel like or understand the hand reaching out to them has a tasty snack pinched between fingers. All they know is that they have to fight to survive. But Jax. Despite all of that, has learned to trust people even when they seem a little scary.

Jax came to us in a recent transport and has started opening up to be the sweetest dog. His favorite thing is to run and run and run in the play yards, Con treats out of very willing staff and volunteers, and make lots of new dog friends. Jax is shy and can be slow to warm up but given his history I think that's something we can all understand. Jax is going to need a quieter home, with no small children. But older and respectful kiddos would probably be okay. Jax wants another doggy friend to play with. Other dogs are what comforts Jax the most, when he gets scared he knows that a four legged friend has his back. But most of all Jax needs a family that is going to love him, one that knows a baby step in the right direction is still a good step no matter the size.

For more information about Jax, please call or fill out an application! This sweet little hound is just waiting for his perfect fit!
