Jasper

Meet Jasper, a three year old Pit/German Shepherd mix weighing around 60 pounds.<br/><br/>Jasper was brought into us after he was found running around. We contacted the owner of his microchipped who told us that their ex told them they would be rehoming the dog. We then called their ex but haven't heard back, unfortunately this is very common with rehoming and not updating microchips. Jasper is a silly boy whose tongue often doesn't fit into his mouth so it seems to always be hanging out at least a little bit. He wants to see everything and say hello to everyone so he does tend to pull on the leash but that is nothing a little training won't help with. Jasper is a happy boy who loves squeaky toys and is very active and outgoing. He will actually toss his squeaky toys around in the play yard while playing with staff. He can be a little mouthy but with a confident handler he does respect boundaries. Due to his mouthy nature we think a home without young kids would be best until he has a little bit more training, but once he does we think he could be great with kiddos. Jasper met a small, angry dog in the lobby and did very well. He also met a large playful dog and although not always sure what to do he was wanting to play. While we always recommend meet and greets with our dogs we think he could do well in a home with another canine companion.<br/><br/>This pet is available for adoption on 3/28/2025 at 11:38 AM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
