Jasper is still looking for a home.<br/>Jasper is a special needs Pomeranian seeking an adopter who is willing to pursue acupuncture for him. <br/>He is Located in New Orleans, Louisiana. Local adopters only please. <br/><br/>Jasper is a very expensive little guy to take care of so we are being picky about who he goes to. He is at least 8-10 years old and weighs only 5 lbs. He needs a calm home without any kids or energetic dogs. He's fine with other calm dogs and cats. He's a super sweet boy who has a feisty side. Adopters should be prepared to be screamed at incessantly when going to leave without him ;) Other dogs in the home need to be nonreactive. <br/> <br/>Jasper was surrendered to us several months ago in horrible shape. He had to have all of his teeth removed because they were rotting out of his mouth - so he eats strictly wet food. He has a heart murmur which he takes medicine for - Enalipril twice a day. We add omega-3 fish oil to his food to help with his heart condition. He is also taking a muscle relaxer twice a day in order to help with his pinched nerve in his back which gives him limited mobility. Our vet recommended that we pursue acupuncture in order to regain his full range of motion for his neck. Currently he has trouble with balance and being easily startled so we try not to accidentally startle him. Before we put him on muscle relaxers, he would have episodes where he would wake us up screaming every morning because he stretched and got into a painful position which can easily happen to him if he moves his neck the wrong way. <br/><br/>In a perfect world, we are really hoping for someone who is home often for Jasper due to his separation anxiety. Jasper is house trained as long as he is taken out on a schedule. He uses dog stairs to climb on and off the couch and bed as he cannot jump up and down on his own and if he falls off he hurts himself. He knows his name very, very well. He will need a fenced in yard due to inability to walk on a leash comfortably. He rides good in the car but needs a bed for friction or to be held. <br/><br/>Jasper is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He is located in New Orleans, Louisiana. You MUST have a vet reference in order to apply.
