Meet Jasper! He is a young mixed breed dog who has a sensitive, sweet personality. He is about 1 years old, neutered, fully vaccinated and weighs about 40 pounds. Jasper was rescued from living in the streets where he suffered from both neglect and abuse. Jasper started severely underweight but is gaining weight rapidly and has proven to be a healthy young boy. He now lives in a foster home where his foster mom is learning many things about him. Jasper is shy, loving, affectionate and kind. He often curls up in his foster mom’s lap for hugs and snuggles. He does well with the cats in his foster home and he is very good with other dogs. Jasper is friendly to strangers, greets other dogs in a friendly manner and loves to play with them. He loves leash walks and hikes and is learning how to play fetch. Jasper has a gentle soul and is a low maintenance type guy. He is house trained, sleeps quietly in his bed all night, exhibits a low energy when hanging out with the family in the home, and has not demonstrated any destructive behaviors. Jasper can be shy around loud, chaotic people or surroundings. Once reassured and moved to a quieter space, Jasper recovers quickly and goes back to happily laying at your feet. He is the kind of dog who thrives when shown compassion and love.
