Wanted: An experienced chihuahua owner with a little extra love, willing to completely spoil me! I’m Jasper, a five-pound, ten-year-old male chihuahua, fully vetted and vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and up-to-date on my heartworm medication. I’m a lover in search of a soulmate! Could you be my perfect match?

I can be a bit of a shy guy at first, but one of my favorite things is to be kissed and petted! When you approach me, I may do a nervous little dance, but I’ll quickly let you pick me up and give me the attention I crave. When you stroke my soft, silky fur, I will lean lovingly into your hand. You won’t ever want to stop petting me, and that’s totally fine with me! It may take some time for me to get attached to you, but once I do, I will be your shadow and constantly ask for cuddles and pets!

My first ten years have been lonely. I was owned by a backyard breeder who didn’t give me the socialization or attention I needed. I wasn't taught potty training skills, but I've almost gotten it mastered and do great on a schedule! I'm comfortable using potty pads or going outdoors. I also don’t have many teeth left, so I’ll need soft food to eat. I’ll need to be in a home with no children, but--while I’d love to be the only dog in your life--I’m open to having some doggy siblings.

I have a couple of medical issues that will require you to keep a close eye on me. The vet says my heart is starting to enlarge, but I don’t have any signs of heart failure and don’t need to be on medication. I also am recovering from a broken jaw after my dental cleaning, but I haven’t had any trouble with eating or drinking, and the vet is pleased with how it’s healing.
