Jaro's Story
Is your home infested with mice, rats, or squirrels? Hire (adopt) Jaro TODAY! He will solve your rodent problem in no time at all, and all for the low cost of an adoption fee that comes with all medical care done AND some training sessions included!

In addition to his excellent hunting skills, Jaro has many other amazing qualities. He is 100% goofball, from his giant ears to his tiny teef, and not a day (or even an hour, really) goes by without him making us laugh. He is truly INCREDIBLE with people–loves them to the ends of the earth. Once he knows you and gets excited to see you, you will look forward to his full-body wiggles and cheesin' smiles (REALLY - he SMILES) every time you see him.

Jaro has spent a lot of time with Muddy Paws. He's grown up in the homes of a few amazingly dedicated foster parents, and we cannot wait to see this stunningly handsome loverboy get the home he deserves.

Real talk–the thing holding Jaro back from being adopted is his prey drive (which is why he would be an incredible exterminator). He has worked SO hard over his time with us on his self-control when he sees squirrels, rats, and other tiny critters on walks. The good news is that he is absolutely one of the smartest dogs we have ever fostered (and we've fostered a LOT). In the house, Jaro is easy as pie. He likes his crate, is completely housetrained, has immense self-control when we ask him to "wait" while we put his food bowl down, and stunned us on day one with sit, paw, down, AND roll over. He doesn't get possessive over anything, or guard anything at all - including very high-value items! We know that if he can do all of these things, he can also become the best leash walker there is.

Over Jaro's time with Muddy Paws, his leash frustration with small critters transferred towards other dogs, and for a while we weren't sure he would be able to socialize appropriately with other dogs...but 7 days into his stay at our house, where we have four resident dogs, he has made the most incredible progress. He's now able to rest calmly in the same room as the other dogs, see them walk by with no reaction, and has even done some successful on-leash interactions with the matron of the group. He is SO EXCITED to be permitted to interact, and so started off pretty pushy, but as dogs become less novel to him, his interactions improve every single time we facilitate them.

Questions? Just reach out to MPR! We (foster parents) would love to talk about this A++ boy.
