JAQUELINE's Story

01/28/26 15:17 Meet Jaqueline!

This playful and affectionate girl is full of personality and love. Jaqueline may be a little nervous at first, like getting into a car for the first time, but with gentle encouragement and treats, she quickly gains confidence. She has excellent leash manners, doesn’t pull, and checks in frequently with her humans.

Jaqueline is curious and friendly with other dogs, calmly passing them and showing interest without reactivity. She loves giving kisses, playing with toys, and spending quality time with her people. Treats are a big motivator, and she already knows “sit.”

Jaqueline has chronic allergic dermatitis, which requires ongoing management with medications, special diets, and regular veterinary care. She comes with a medical waiver, so her adopter must be prepared for lifelong care.

With patience, love, and gentle guidance, Jaqueline will thrive as a playful, affectionate, and devoted companion. 01/13/26 12:22 Reason animal needs rescue: Chornic allergic dermatitis, has been medically managed at shelter since August, due to capacity, shelter cannot continue to manage her skin condition. Responds well to treatments (antibiotics, Apoquel, antifungol medications) but continued repeat treatment needed lifelong. Type: Medical Date animal needs rescue by: ASAP Impound type: Stray 11/16/25 What did we do on today’s adventure: Today was my first Trails & Tails adventure
and I'll be honest - I was a little nervous about getting into the car at first. But my
walker was patient with me and had lots of tasty treats, so I decided to be brave and
give it a try. And guess what? Once I hopped in that first time, I realized it wasn't so bad at all! I jumped right in when it was time to head back. I'm proud to say I have
excellent leash manners - I don't pull at all and I like to check in with my walker
frequently to make sure we're on the same page. I know my sit command and I
love treats (did someone say snacks?). We passed other people and bikes calmly along
the way - they're interesting to look at but not something that worries me. Other dogs
are also pretty interesting too! I'm not reactive to them, just curious about what
they're up to. My walker gave me lots of pets and I showed my appreciation with
many kisses.
What should potential adopters know about me: Jaqueline is a playful and
affectionate girl with an adorable stumpy wag. While she can be nervous about new
experiences initially - like getting into a car for the first time - she responds nicely to a
patient approach and positive reinforcement with treats. Once she over comes that
initial hesitation, she's confident and comfortable. On walks, Jaqueline has excellent
leash manners - she doesn't pull and checks in frequently with her handler. She's treat
motivated and already knows sit”. Jaqueline passes people and bikes calmly without
reactivity and shows non-reactive interest in other dogs (but passes nicely). She thrives
in social settings, regularly attending and enjoying doggie play group at the shelter
where she plays well with other dogs. She’s an affectionate pup who loves to give
kisses and enjoys spending time with her people. 02/17/26 12:48 What did we do on today’s adventure:
Jaqueline started off a bit shy, but she quickly warmed up once she
realized her friend had brought snacks and a bag full of stuffed toys
just for her. By the time they arrived at their destination, she was
eager and ready to explore.
Her favorite moments of the outing were the breaks she shared with
her friend—playing with all the stuffed animals and the ball in
between exploring. She even added to the collection by finding a big
stick she was very proud of!
It was a quiet morning, and Jaqueline did wonderfully as cyclists,
walkers, and other dogs passed by. She was also captivated by the
geese—some of them impressively large! Interestingly, she didn’t
seem to notice the squirrel along the way; she was too focused on
having fun with her friend.
In total, Jaqueline walked about 3 miles and proved to be an
excellent car passenger. What potential adopters should know:
While Jaqueline may start off a bit shy, she warms up quickly and
bonds deeply with her person. Once she feels comfortable, her sweet
personality comes through—and she’s eager to connect.
Jaqueline is both intelligent and food-motivated, making her an
excellent candidate for continued learning and
positive-reinforcement training. She’s the kind of dog who will thrive
with a patient adopter excited to teach her new skills.
In addition to being a fun and loyal companion to her human,
Jaqueline also attends playgroup at the shelter, where she enjoys play
time with other dogs.
Affectionate at heart, Jaqueline loves to shower her human with
kisses and happily soaks up pets and booty scratches. She’ll be a
loving, devoted addition to the right household.
Three words to describe me: Playful, Energetic, Affectionate
