Jane's Story

Welcome Jane to STS.

Found abandoned in the woods and was a little harder to catch than Tarzan (whom are believed to be her sibling). She is a 10lb Chihuahua 6 mo old puppy.

After being rescued, Jane was very scared and did not want to be outside at all. So scared that would hold her urine for 24 hours before going. This lasted a couple days before she finally decided that with her foster siblings by her side, it was safe. She now will run outside with them and go potty and come back in. Jane has also started letting her foster know that she has to go out!

As you can imagine, Jane is very timid of new people. She will need a patient family who can give her space until she warms up. She will also need an escape proof harness or a fenced yard. When she gets spooked she tries to run. A fenced yard would be nice for her but for the right family, the harness will do.

Given her fear and that she looks to her canine siblings for direction and confidence, Jane needs a home with a dog that she can follow.

Amazingly, Jane has already learned "crate." With that word, she follows everyone and goes right in. She sleeps all night and keeps her crate dry. She is also fine being crated during the day.

Jane is starting to get more confident and has started showing her puppy side...chewing, exploring...even things she shouldn't, as a puppy does. This is a good sign because it means she is getting braver. She will need a patient loving home who can continue to teach her how to dog while still being supportive of her confidence.

She also already knows "sit" for her food bowl and her treats. What a little smart pants.

Jane is literally the sweetest little girl. Her tail wagging is so fast. Her little body even wags when she's cuddling up by her foster's face. Jane also loves belly rubs and for some reason, loves it when people sing!

She is a happy girl that deserves the best patient family.
