Jake's Story

Jake is a Shelter favorite! We love this dog. Part of it is no doubt due to the great progress he has made since he first came to us. Jake has been with us for a few months now and was in absolutely terrible shape when he first came to the shelter. He was emaciated and he had sores on his hip bones, probably from having been kept in a container that was too small for him. Jake has really blossomed. He used to be frenetically active, pacing all the time. He is now part of a playgroup, and he does lie down and actually nap fairly often! He is becoming more relaxed and less anxious, And he absolutely loves attention. He’s still a major food hound, not surprising in a dog that was starving. He is going to make a wonderful companion, and a very loyal boy. Jake is heartworm positive and we are in the process of having him treated for Heartworms. This is a special boy who deserves to spend the rest of his life in a loving, caring, attentive home that will provide for his needs in a way that his first home did not. If you are interested in Jake, please email Strotherb@yahoo.com for more information. Be sure you reach out to us before coming to the shelter to meet Jake because we do sometimes have irregular hours. Let’s give this wonderful boy the loving home he deserves!
