Jake *BONDED PAIR WITH FINN*'s Story

Jake — Loyal, Brave, and Full of Love Jake is the quieter brother at first and was usually second to greet visitors at the shelter. While he may come across as shy initially, once he trusts you, his happy and playful personality shines through. Jake forms incredibly strong bonds and is one of the most loyal dogs you’ll ever meet. Jake absolutely loves food and enjoys working for treats through puzzles or training, making him a great candidate for continued positive training and enrichment activities. He is also very affectionate and loves giving kisses and even wrapping his paws around you in what feels like a big hug. Jake likely had some scary experiences at the shelter that affected his trust in unfamiliar people, so he may bark or growl when he feels unsure. However, with patience, positive guidance, and a calm environment, he continues to make progress and shows how much he wants to trust and connect. Despite being the shy one, Jake is actually the more adventurous brother. He enjoys exploring new places, confidently going up and down stairs, and is always curious about his surroundings. At home, he also enjoys relaxing and snoozing comfortably after playtime. Jake thrives with people he knows and trusts, and once you’re in his circle, you have a devoted best friend for life. Jake and Finn love running and playing together outside and entertaining themselves with chew toys indoors. They are currently working on potty training and are comfortable being crated during the day while their foster family is away. They are still learning leash skills and can become overwhelmed by busy environments, so a home with a secure yard and adopters willing to continue positive training will help Jake continue building confidence. Jake is deeply bonded with his best friend and brother, Finn, and they must be adopted together.<br/>4/3/26 9:45 PM
