Jake was abandoned and picked up by Animal Control before making his way to the HSWA. It's evident by his condition that he has not had an easy life thus far, but we are determined to give this preciously sweet boy the best forever home we can find him. Could you be the family to give Jake all the love and care he has missed out on in his life?<br/><br/>About Me:<br/>I was abandoned and left to fend for myself before I eventually ended up here at the HSWA. They are taking excellent care of me, but I desperately want a home where I don't have to worry about being left behind again.<br/>Everyone who has met me talks about how sweet and calm I am. I love to meet new people and am really interested in making new dog friends. My personality is friendly, laid back and low-key, but I am love wandering around in the safety of a fenced-in yard, so I would like to have the opportunity for play time and exercise in between long snoozes on the couch.<br/>Please adopt me and give me the love and security that I obviously missed out on in my former home. I am such a good boy!<br/><br/>Breed: Lab / Pit bull terrier mix<br/>Age: approx. 3.5 yrs.<br/>Weight: Currently around 52 lbs. but he needs to put on some weight.<br/>Fitness: Moderately Active<br/>Kids: Hasn't been tested around children, but Jake's personality leans toward him being a great family dog<br/>Other Dogs / Animals: Wants to engage (in a positive way) with other dogs. Has a relaxed and calm demeanor around new dogs. Has not been tested around cats<br/>Special Requests: Fenced-in yard and a home that will allow him to snuggle on the couch<br/><br/>All HSWA dogs available for adoption are up-to-date on vet care, are heartworm-negative, have been (or will be) spayed or neutered, microchipped, and current on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives.<br/>Our adoption fee is $125.
