Jake's Story

Jake is a handsome, mellow cattle dog mix. While many of his breed are known for high energy, Jake prefers a slower pace, he ambles around with purpose, takes his time sniffing the world, and might break into a light trot now and then if the mood strikes him. He’s not in a rush, and he’s perfectly content with that. Jake enjoys backyard time, short strolls on leash, and a good toy to play with. He does appear to have a slight limp in his front left leg, so he’s not the ideal hiking partner, but he’s the perfect match if you’re looking for a companion to share quiet outdoor time and a relaxed routine. Jake does like to ride in the car.

Jake would thrive in a cat-free, single adult-only home where he can feel secure and respected. He can be protective of his food and isn’t a fan of medical handling, so he’ll need a person who understands boundaries and is willing to work with him patiently.

Despite his quirks, Jake is a genuinely good dog who deserves a home where he can settle in, feel safe, and just be himself. If you’re dog savvy and looking for a loyal, low-key companion who still enjoys a bit of play, Jake might be your perfect match.

Nelson is a senior gentleman with a heart full of love and a spirit that still shines bright. This sweet boy has mastered the art of companionship, he’s friendly and always ready to make new friends.

In his kennel, you’ll often find Nelson curled up with his favorite blanket, softly “nursing” it like a puppy. It’s his little way of finding comfort while he waits for the warmth of a forever home. Don’t let his age fool you, Nelson still has a playful spark and enjoys walks, games, and being part of daily life. He can be very exuberant while getting leashed for his walk. What he wants most, though, is a cozy home with a soft carpet for his paws, a comfy chair to share with you, and a warm bed to dream in each night.

Nelson’s ideal person or family will give him the love and comfort every senior dog deserves. In return, he’ll give you endless affection, quiet companionship, and a heart full of gratitude. Could Nelson be the missing piece of your home? Come meet him, he’s ready to love you forever.

Paste this link to our online adoption application into your browser:
http://beachpets.com/long-beach-wa-shelter/dog-adoption-application/

Go to beachpets.com for more information on our adoption process.
