Jaguar's Story

Teddy Bear Jag!

Sweet and cuddly real-life teddy bear, Jaggy, is looking for his forever home!

Jaguar/Jag/Jaggy/JagJag is the perfect mix of "no idea what personal space is" and "65lbs IS in fact, lap-dog size". In order, Jag's favorite things are: cuddling, pets, giving kisses, playing tug, more cuddles, licking your face while you pet him, snuggling, playing, snuggly AND being pet, and playing fetch.

At 4 years old and 65lbs, Jag absolutely is the perfect companion. Once he settles in, he is easy-going and eager to please. Jag has mastered house training, crate training, and has a generally relaxed disposition in the home! He is comfortable in his crate while his humans are gone or at work, and when you're home, he's good for a game of tug and then a long recovery snooze on the couch (complete with piggy snores.) Jaggy prefers to be in the same room as his people (or, best-case scenario... on top of them), but he has learned that it's ok to settle on his own (preferably on a pile of pillows, or tucked in a blanket on a couch).

On walks, he shows off his floppy ears with an adorably bouncy stride! He prefers a brisk pace, but even so, he is a great walker. JagJag checks in frequently with his walker, sits before crosswalks, and is great about pulling over to the side to let excited dogs/strollers/runners pass by. He is interested in the world around him, but is easily redirected back to his humans.

Jag's history is a mystery; however, he has been absolutely flourishing in his foster home. Jag is proud to say he has learned "sit", "down", and "touch", and is working diligently on "wait", "come", "drop", and our favorite, "give hug!". With slow introductions, he is happily living with a foster sister dog and a foster brother cat! We think that's pretty impressive and speaks to how sweet and gentle he is!

His foster's favorite things about Jaggy:
The way he leans into snuggles
He can "awoo" on command
How he bounces when he is excited about a toy
His unabashed snores
When he carries his favorite toys around the home
How sweet he is

What Jaggy is currently working on:
Not alerting to loud or unknown noises (though his fosters, of course, appreciate how considerate he is to make sure they hear it too!). Jaggy is learning that when he does hear a noise, he should come to his human, sit, and wait for a treat instead of alerting! (He is doing GREAT with this!)

Jaguar is looking for a family with a lot of love to give, who appreciates a goofy velcro dog, and hope for a permanent lap warmer. Jaguar would love to show you that he, in fact, does fit on your lap.

His heart is as big as his head!
