Jade's Story

Meet Jade 💚
The soft-hearted, couch-loving girl who just wants to be near her person
Jade is a sweet, sensitive, moderate-energy girl who has been in foster care for several months, and during that time she’s shown us just how special she is. She’s a Velcro dog at heart — happiest when she’s right by her human’s side, soaking up love, praise, and affection.
Jade may be shy at first, but once she feels safe, her goofy personality shines through. She enjoys daily walks and playtime, followed by quality couch time (her favorite). She doesn’t need intense exercise — just consistency, companionship, and someone who enjoys being together.
Jade’s past wasn’t kind. She was dumped and left on the streets, and it took months to safely bring her to safety. Because of this, she can be a flight risk, so a securely fenced yard is required. She can also get scared in cars and may shake — we believe this is tied to her past trauma — but with patience and reassurance, she continues to make progress.
She warms up with time and bonds deeply with her people. In busy environments she can get jumpy or mouthy when excited, especially around other dogs, but in a calmer home she is expected to settle beautifully. She would likely do best with older kids (she hasn’t been kid tested yet).
Jade does well with other dogs after slow introductions and enjoys playful dog companions once she’s comfortable. She is still learning her basic manners but is very praise-motivated — affection and encouragement go a long way with her. She does well both crated and free-roaming, and would thrive in a home with a laid-back, experienced adopter who understands trauma and the importance of decompression.
💚 Jade’s perfect home:
• Secure fenced yard
• Calm, patient household
• Older kids or adults
• Another playful dog would be a bonus
• Someone who understands that trust takes time
If you’re looking for a dog who will give you her whole heart, wait by the door just to be close to you, and blossom with love and patience — Jade might be your girl.
