Jackson's Story

Meet Jackson!

Jackson was rescued from the Busan City Shelter along with her mother and two siblings. Her siblings have already found homes through the shelter. She’s a cheerful and energetic puppy who loves people more than anything! Jackson gets along well with both humans and other dogs, but like any young pup, she still has lots to learn. She’s playful, affectionate, and full of puppy energy - a true bundle of joy!

Jackson is a sweet, 9.5-month-old, 15 lb girl with a gentle, affectionate, and loyal personality. She thrives on companionship and wants nothing more than to be close to her person - she’s a true “ride or die” who finds comfort just by your side. Jackson's biggest challenge has been separation anxiety and learning to build confidence around new dogs, humans and with life in general. She has been working with her foster on separation anxiety, slow, proper introductions and crate training, but she is fully potty trained and eager to learn.

She enjoys gentle affection once trust is established and will nudge or paw for attention, but she prefers to warm up to new people at her own pace. Jackson can be nervous around loud noises, busy streets, and unfamiliar situations, and she benefits from a calm, patient household where she can build confidence gradually. She walks politely on leash, though squirrels are her ultimate nemesis, and she does best in quieter, less populated areas. Jackson has shown herself to be a polite, curious, and playful companion with other dogs, enjoying gentle introductions and forming bonds at her own pace. She would thrive in a home with someone who is home most of the time or can take her along, ideally with a confident dog sibling or as an only dog where she can soak up love and attention. With patience, gentle encouragement, and consistent support, Jackson’s sweet, loyal, and loving personality truly shines, making her an incredibly devoted and rewarding companion.

An ideal adopter for her would be patient and one willing to continue her ongoing separation anxiety training. A adopter who lives in a detached home is also ideal, as she is vocal when left alone. Building confidence will be essential for Jackson, so she can grow into a well-rounded and thriving pup!

Location: Guelph, ON
Weight: 15LBS
Age: 10Months
