Jackson's Story

Jackson is a 1 year old neutered male purebred & registered border collie, he has a wonderful temperament towards people and loves to play with other dogs, loves to fetch and catch, and we would prefer to see him go to agility training, he is a very bright and focused boy that needs mentally stimulated or he will destroy whis bedding at the kennel, we have just moved him into a foster home environment , with a dog and 2 boys, we expect to have a progress report on him by the new year,

He lived with 2 boys, 4 and 6 yrs. of age and loved them and has never shown any aggression towards them or anyone, child or adult,

He MUST have a fenced yard as he has spent all his 1 1/2 years tied up other than at night when they brought him into a breezeway, located between the garage and house and he slept inside a crate which he didn't mind -he never messed in his crate. He needs trained as former owners only left him chained. Whenever he escaped from being tied or from house he would run to the neighbours field and proceed to round up the cattle and drive them into the barn. Nothing they could say or do would take his mind off this until he had done his job or else they had to physically go over and pick him up.

He would probably chase them if given the chance, like most herding breeds

they bought him at 8 weeks of age May 3/02. He was born March 16/02.

He has been neutered, vaccinations updated March 28/03.

His adoption fee is $150 as he is vaccinated, boostered, dewormed, treated for parasite prevention monthly and is neutered

he can be seen in the brussels/seaforth area

Please do not apply, if:

1) You are expecting to adopt an animal in less then 24 hours,
2) You are not willing to complete the adoption application (this is how we assess if a viewing is scheduled),
3) You do not want drive to this area for a viewing and/or adoption (I do not have a shelter for these animals - they are in foster homes, so I drive somewhere to meet you as well, and when you stand me up you are not only forcing the animals to be delayed in being adopted to decent permanent homes, but also wasting my and their time, and our money by having us spend time and long distance charges online processing your application and driving somewhere, all for nothing)
4) If you have multiple applications out as it is very unfair to waste the animal’s and volunteer’s time by applying and promising to come and then canceling or no showing at the last minute because you got a animal “CLOSER” to where you live - there is a map on our home page so consider the drive before you apply –
WE APPRECIATE YOU LETTING US PUT OUR TIME AND SPARSE RESOURCES TO THEIR BEST USE
If you are willing to follow our adoption procedure, please apply online by completing the q and a on the adoption page of www.adoptapet.lucknow.on.ca - please fill this out before calling us – as I have very little time to return phone calls, but can return emails at any time of the day

1-10-4 going to georgetown

This pet is eligible for a gift of the first two months of ShelterCare pet insurance paid for by Petfinder.com
