Jack Jack's Story
Jack Jack is an energetic, active, and lively young dog. At 3 years old, he still has the spirit of a puppy! Intelligent, curious, and eager to learn, he loves interacting with his environment and having fun. He particularly enjoys chewing on his toys—so it's best to give him sturdy ones to prevent him from choosing something else! He is a pro at chasing balls and sticks, so if you offer him those instead, he will be very happy.
Jack Jack still needs to learn to manage his excitement and remain polite in his interactions. When he is very energetic, he may jump or nip, but he responds well to a consistent and kind approach. He is highly motivated by food rewards and quickly gains confidence when he feels he is being well supervised. Although gentle by nature, he may need a little time to get used to new people—a few treats and patience will work wonders!
Jack Jack walks well on a leash, but he doesn't like to be surprised by strangers who approach too quickly. Walks in quiet areas are therefore ideal, especially at first. We have also started muzzle training to help him better manage certain situations and feel more comfortable in his environment.
Jack Jack is house-trained, accepts his crate well, and can be left home alone without any problems when he is in it. He LOVES other dogs and enjoys playing enthusiastically—sometimes a little too much! His future canine companion will therefore need to be comfortable with an energetic play style and have a high tolerance.
Jack Jack needs a family that can offer him stability, guidance, and clear boundaries to help him succeed. A patient, consistent family that is committed to his training will enable him to continue to progress and become the best companion possible.
