Jack's Story
Meet Jack, a 2-year-old German Shepherd and Australian Cattle Dog mix who is 56 pounds of pure love, goofy energy, and thick-boy charm! Jack is the ultimate shadow—an incredibly loving pup who wants to be by your side 24/7. He has a massive, silly personality but also knows how to settle down beautifully and be laid back when it is time to relax. This smart boy is already fully potty trained, crate trained, muzzle trained, and prong-collar trained, and he even has good manners at the groomer. Jack is also an excellent communicator who is very good about giving clear warning signs before he gets uncomfortable, making his boundaries very easy to read. He can live with kids when introduced slowly, and he does well with cats, though he can be a bit pushy and requires supervision. He can also share a home with another dog, provided his housemate is smaller than him, not a puppy, and not overly pushy, and that they take the introduction process nice and slow.

Because of his unique mix, Jack needs a strong, confident leader who will establish strict boundaries and won't be a pushover. Safety is a top priority for this handsome guy, so he must wear his prong collar and muzzle whenever he leaves the house. He is triggered by moving bicycles, prefers to avoid crowded spaces, and has a very high prey drive when it comes to bunnies.

At home, Jack is still working on his greeting manners and tends to jump on people when he gets excited, and he must be crated whenever he is left home alone. He can also be a bit of a fun-policeman and over-corrects other dogs, which is why his canine friends need to fit his specific criteria. Additionally, Jack is technically special needs due to a past injury to his rear left leg, and he strictly dislikes having his feet touched. Finally, if you are looking to win his heart, just make sure to keep the Hills Science Diet dry food away from him, as he is a very vocal critic of that particular recipe!

If you are looking for a devoted, highly trained, and delightfully goofy partner who just needs a structured environment to shine, Jack is your boy!
