Ivy's Story

IVY HAS NOT COMPLETED HER VETTING AND WILL NOT BE SPAYED UNTIL FEBRUARY 4, 2026. APPLICATIONS ARE ONLY BEING ACCEPTED FROM WITHIN A 30 MINUTE RADIUS OF DES MOINES UNTIL AFTER SHE HAS BEEN SPAYED.

Ivy is a 3-month-old approximate 20 lb., mixed breed puppy in whom her foster mom can see both Labrador Retriever looks and behaviors. She came from one of three litters in the same household and was surrendered along with 12 of her half/full siblings from a home in Oklahoma (same dad, different mothers.)

Ivy has long, fluffy ears, beautiful brown eyes and is a bit on the shy side compared to her sister Piper. Her fur is also on the fluffier side, so she does shed some and will need brushing. Her coat is a soft, luxurious mix of black and white fur with little, tiny white/black freckled mittens on her toes.

She enjoys being outside and running around outdoors and indoors and is discovering the joy of toys and chewing. She can be affectionate and cuddly but is happy to be off on her own as well. She will need a patient household willing to put in the time to draw her out of her shell. The reward will be a wonderful and faithful companion.

She is doing very well with house and crate training but will need further work going forward. She is in a home with a teenage girl and 4 foster siblings and does well with the other dogs. She has not been around cats in her foster home.

Siblings: Piper (F) Ivy (F) Sally (F) Charlie Brown (M)

If you are interested in meeting Ivy, please complete an online application at https://hopeanimalrescueofiowa.duplie.com/forms/196/dog-application

Adoption fee is $300 which includes spay/neuter, microchip, and age appropriate vaccines.
