Isabelle's Story

Hi, I'm Isabelle.
I'm about 2 years old, weigh around 40 pounds, and I'm a spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped mixed breed girl.

I'm full of energy and love to move. Running, playing, and staying active are some of my favorite things, and I'm always excited to be part of whatever's going on. I'm very friendly and social, especially once I've had a chance to burn off some energy.

I do well with other dogs, but I'm best matched with larger dogs only. Cats are a no for me. I love kids and enjoy being around people who want to engage and play with me.

I'm house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. I can be excitable on leash, but it's manageable and improves with consistency. I do best when crated next to a canine friend-it helps me settle and feel secure.

Before joining the rescue, I was found pregnant in Carthage, NC. I had my puppies just before coming into care and did exactly what a good mom does. Early on, while still very close to my puppies, I showed some protective behavior during vet visits. Since my puppies have been weaned and adopted, I've become much more relaxed, social, and friendly, and that protective side has faded.

I'm looking for an active home with a fenced yard and people who enjoy staying busy and including their dog in daily life. If you're ready for a fun, energetic companion who's past the hardest chapter and ready to focus on herself, I might be the perfect fit.
