Iris's Story

Meet Iris

Iris is a stunning black and white Pit Bull mix with icy blue eyes that will stop you in your tracks. She may look calm and quiet in her kennel, but don't be fooled - once she's outside, this girl turns into a full-speed athlete with the energy of a track star.

Fetch is her absolute favorite thing in the world, especially when rubber balls are involved. She'll vibrate with excitement waiting for you to throw it - and if you take too long, she'll make her opinion known! Iris is wonderfully expressive and routine-oriented. She communicates when she wants the ball thrown, to go outside, come back in, or get some love - but she does not bark unnecessarily at people. She thrives on routine and bonds closely with her humans.

She is house-trained, incredibly smart, and a quick learner who is eager to work for attention and playtime. With consistency and structure, Iris will shine.

Iris needs to be the only pet in the home. She isn't a fan of other animals and does have a prey drive, so a home where she can be your one-and-only is a must.

Brought in as a stray on April 22, 2025, Iris is now the shelter's longest-residing dog. She's been waiting patiently for a forever home that can match her energy, appreciate her big personality, and keep the fetch sessions going strong.
