Iris's Story
Meet Iris – The Long-Legged Goofball with a Heart of Gold

Iris is a stunning, 70-pound, long-legged beauty who’s absolutely convinced she’s a Chihuahua. With her huge personality and sweet, silly nature, she keeps everyone around her smiling. This girl is as comical as they come—she loves to parade around with her toys, showing them off proudly, and her clown-like, fun-loving antics will keep you entertained for hours.

Beyond her striking looks, Iris has an incredible disposition. She is affectionate, people-oriented, and thrives on attention. She hasn’t met a person—or a dog, big or small—that she doesn’t adore. Raised with both large and small breed fosters, she gets along wonderfully with everyone.

Iris is happiest when she’s with her favorite humans, and her second-favorite thing in the world is playing fetch—especially with a frisbee. She’s smart, eager to please, and has that special calm, intuitive presence that would make her an excellent therapy-dog candidate. She knows how to cuddle when you need comfort and has a heart as big as her legs are long.

This young girl already has some great skills under her belt: she’s crate-trained, house-trained, loves spending time outdoors, and walks nicely on a leash—though she may pull a bit when she spots someone new to greet (she just can’t help herself!). With her intelligence and desire to make you happy, she’ll quickly master the rest of her manners.

Iris truly has everything it takes to become a wonderful companion. She’s loving, joyful, loyal, and full of personality. Anyone would be lucky to welcome this beautiful girl into their family.

If you think Iris may be the one for you, please go to our website at www.wagstorichesanimalrescue.org and fill out an application to adopt. Please be sure to include a vet reference as regular vet care is important to us for the health of all our adopted dogs. With approval and a $295 adoption donation, she will be ready to accompany you on all of life’s many adventures! Iris is spayed, microchipped, fecal tested clean of internal parasites and up to date on all her vaccinations, including rabies.
