He is professionally trained and has learned the Commands: Sit, Heel, Down, Place, Come. He is being fostered with 2 other dogs and does very well with them. <br/><br/>Indy's genetic mix is a bit of a mystery, if we are being honest. He actually looks very much like Scooby Doo, who is a Great Dane....but Indy isn't nearly as big as a Great Dane....topping out at only 60 pounds. So, think Scooby Doo that shrunk in the hot wash/dry laundry cycle, lol. We think that there is also a mix of some hound, lab, black mouth cur.....he certainly has a love for food and is very treat motivated. Whatever the mix.....it yielded a dog that is longing to bond with his owner. He loves to tease his foster mom into playing tug o war with him.....loves to chase the ball and bring it back, but not necessarily give it to you, lol. However, if you are sitting on the couch or recliner, he is the first to climb up in your lap for cuddles (yes, he doesn't know his size....which is why we put in his profile no small children). He is just a 60 pound lap dog! He would make a great buddy for anyone that is looking for companionship.<br/><br/>An ideal home for Indy would contain a fenced yard, a supply of treats, a warm lap to snuggle on while watching tv, and someone to throw a ball to him or take him on a walk at least once a day. He could go to a home with dogs, but he would likely thrive in being the only dog just because he thinks all toys and bones are for him.....and he wants top billing in his person's lap. <br/><br/>If interested in Indy, we would be happy to set up a meet and greet....just be sure to bring some Scooby Snacks! ;-)<br/><br/>For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.youluckydogrescue.org and read our Adoption FAQ's and Before You Adopt documents. We will complete a pre-screening first to make sure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you. That way, we don't unnecessarily waste your time or the foster's time.<br/><br/>Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. All of our rescue dogs are heart worm tested annually beginning at 9 months of age, and they are kept on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives.<br/><br/>The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue.<br/><br/>We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
