Meet Indi-Anna

Indianna came to us from Yuma after having been in a foster home where they worked with her on socializing. She seems like a dog who has not known much kindness in her young life and she is skittish and uncertain in new situations. She does prefer females but can adjust to men if they go slow with her. She also loves kids as long as they are respectful. Indi gets very attached to her caregiver once she trusts and loves to be close. Indi is 18-24 mo and 18 lbs....she is very tall and lithe.

Here is Indi's story in her words! "I don't know why my human started calling me Indianna. She's got a dog named Mindy. Mindy is my role model of all that it means to be a dog. She's athletic, so am I. She's a good guard dog and likes to bark at dangerous, scary people passing our home, so do I. Mindy likes to run, so do I. Mindy and I play fight all the time. The human and Mindy go out running in the morning. Sometimes Mindy comes back smelling like she's been eating human food. Then the human takes me and the senior dog Schatze. Sometimes we find human food too. Some times we run faster to keep up with the rabbits.

Sometimes I get stressed when I want to run with Mindy but can't go. I like to pull stuffing out of pillows and beds. I had a little dog bed that I bit a little hole in and pulled out stuffing just to relieve stress because the human made me go inside when she went out running with Mindy. Then she put the dog bed where I couldn't get it and that worked. I idolize Mindy. I want to be just like her. I like play fighting her to show her I'm just as cool. I love my human too! I respect Schatze and like our short runs. Schatze shows me how to gain power over humans by being cute when we go to PetSmart. We don't hang too much because Schatze is calm and sleepy. I'm bouncing with energy. As long as my forever human does not expect me to be calm and sleepy like Schatze, I will show them love and adventure like they've never known before. If I don't have an outlet for my energy I might get into trouble"

Indi is also crate trained (for short periods) and mostly housebroken with a dog door once she has learned the routine (expect accidents in the beginning and some fear poops). Indy would be happiest in a home with at least one compatible dog who will show her the ropes (like Mindy has!).
