IL/Rocky's Story

After months of heartworm treatment, I'm excited to introduce Rocky!

Rocky is about a year and a half and is a typical young Brittany. He loves to play with the other dogs in the house, and even gets the grumbly older female to play with him every once in a while. Rocky has learned that watching the squirrels and birds is very entertaining and enjoys spending nice days in the yard. He listens pretty well -- when he wants to -- but is known to tune his humans out when he knows it's time to go to his crate and he's having fun outside! He is house trained (he's never had an accident), crate trained, UTD on his shots and on HW preventative. Rocky came into NBRAN heartworm positive, so went through treatment and is now ready for adoption!

Rocky would enjoy a home with another dog -- he really likes to play with his Pitbull/Pointer mix foster sister. He does fine with all humans but does have a tendency to jump on people when he's excited, so is probably best without very young kids. Rocky has not been cat tested, but would likely be interested as he does like to chase animals in our yard. Rocky is young so on the higher energy side, but definitely knows how to relax and chill on the couch in the evening. He would like a home with a fence so he can play safely in his yard.

Rocky lives in a house with three other dogs currently, and two older human kids (11 and 16). He learned the doggy door on the first day, and quickly made himself at home on the couch. Rocky sleeps in a crate at night and does great -- he only protests his crate if it's during the middle of the day and he has better things to do with his time! He loves food -- dog and human -- and hasn't found a treat he doesn't enjoy. Rocky plays with stuffed toys and balls and is generally a fun, young dog.

If you think Rocky might be a perfect fit for your family, please fill out an adoption application at www.nbran.org.
